    The distinction between a biological effect and a clinical fertility outcome matters. A laboratory change in sperm movement does not automatically mean a man will be infertile. Fertility depends on multiple semen parameters, reproductive anatomy, hormones, genetics, timing and the fertility of both partners.

    Research also differs by exposure type. A sperm sample exposed directly in a laboratory is not equivalent to a phone sitting on a desk. Animal studies can explore mechanisms but cannot be applied directly to human pregnancy outcomes.
